[輕]

朋友送了一本書名為"The Unbearable Lightness of Being".
看著看著,竟被書中的哲理填滿腦袋。
或許自己正在經歷主人翁的生活。

節錄幾段文字與大家分享。

Lightness and Weight

All languages that derive from Latin form the word "compassion"
by combining the prefix meaning "with" (com-) and the root meaning
"suffering" (Late Latin, passio)........
In languages that derive from Latin, "compassion" means: we cannot
look on coolly as others suffer; or, we sympathize with those who suffer.
That is why the word "compassion" generally inspires suspicion; it
designates what is considered an inferior, second-rate sentiment that has
little to do with love. To love someone out of compassion means
not really to love.

A Short Dictionary of MisunderstoodWords

Being a _________ is a fate you did not choose. What we have not
chosen we cannot consider either out merit or our failure. We have
to believe that we have to assume the correct attitude to our
chosen fate. Te rebel against being born a ____________ seemed
as foolish to us as to take pride in it.
The value of ________.

Fidelity and Betrayal

Betrayal. From tender youth we are told by father and teacher that betrayal
is the most heinous offence imaginable.
But what is betrayal? Betrayal means breaking ranks. Betrayal means breaking
ranks and going off into the unknown. .... knew of nothing more
magnificent than going off into the unknown.
